Introduction to Cure the Blue Ribbon Of Colon Cancer

On May 7th 2011 Matt Wilfong went into the local ER with severe pain, after a CT they admitted him, and took him directly to emergency surgery; tests showed he had a complete bowel blockage. During surgery Drs found a 6cm tumor, Matt was diagnosed with stage 3c colon cancer.

He lost his father in 2001 and maternal grandfather in 1980 to colon cancer. He and his wife have a dream that no one else should have to go through what they are going through. Colon cancer is 80% curable and 90% preventable with early detection and they have made it their mission to help others, hence the birth of Cure the Blue Ribbon, the Matt Wilfong Foundation Ltd.

With family, friends, and lots of determination we are committed to helping “at risk” poor, uninsured and under-insured receive lifesaving colon cancer tests,  Ostomy vouchers for supplies and a financial gift in a time of need after the devastating diagnosis.

We want to eradicate colon cancer by empowering people, educating the public in a non-partisan manner, with informational activities to increase public awareness, through advocacy, service and keeping them informed.
